Pupil Metaskills Classes
Learn More About Metaskills
We believe that being a great pupil is about much more than just remembering facts. We teach the national curriculum but we also focus on Metaskills—the essential 'learning how to learn' skills that allow our pupils to thrive in any subject, and in life beyond the classroom.
To ensure our children grow into Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens, and Effective Contributors, we focus on Meta-skills. These are the 'learning how to learn' habits that underpin everything we do in the classroom. When a child masters these skills, they don't just learn a subject, they master the ability to engage with the world around them.
Adaptability & Resilience: Learning to stay positive when tasks get tough and understanding that mistakes are just part of the learning process.
Communication: Developing the confidence to listen, share ideas, and present thoughts clearly.
Critical Thinking: Asking the right questions, looking for patterns, and finding creative solutions to puzzles.
Collaboration: Learning how to work effectively as part of a team, valuing the input of others, and supporting classmates.

We are always looking for volunteers to come in to support with or run a masterclass of their own area of expertise with a member of staff in school. If you are interested in doing that please contact the school office or have a look at our Volunteer Your Time With Us page to see how to become a parent/carer volunteer.
